Homesteadability, INC is a 501(C)(3) Nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a vibrant, inclusive community where adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) can learn, grow, contribute and thrive.

Our vision is to provide meaningful opportunities for housing, employment, friendship, and community engagement within a supportive congregate living environment-creating a place where individuals and their families can feel a true sense of belonging, purpose, security, and home.

Since 2022, Homesteadability has offered engaging day programming for neurodivergent adults. Our program is designed to help participants develop greater independence while discovering their individual strengths, interests, and abilities. Through hands-on learning and real -world experiences, participants build skills in independent living, self -awareness, self-advocacy, community participation, agribusiness, creativity, and employment readiness.

At Homesteadability, we believe learning is most meaningful when it is active, purposeful, and enjoyable. Our farm and cottage-food activities provide participants with opportunities to plant, nurture, harvest, prepare, package, label, and sell products. These experiences teach practical skills while allowing participants to experience the pride and satisfaction that comes from seeing their work become something valuable. 

Daily living activities are also important part of our program. Participants practice cooking, food preparation, laundry, organization, personal responsibility, and self-care. Through encouragement, repetition, and hands-on experiences, participants build confidence, develop intrinsic motivation, and gain skills that can support greater independence throughout their lives. 

Creativity has an equally important place at Homesteadability. Art and artisanship encourage self-=expression, imagination, and individuality. Participants have opportunities to create their own crafts and products to share and sell, giving them the joy of creating something uniquely their own while developing entrepreneurial and employment- related skills. 

Community participation is woven throughout our programming. Participants have opportunities to engage with the broader community, practice social and communication skills, develop meaningful relationships, and experience the satisfaction of contributing to the world around them. 

Day programming is offered Monday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Transportation is provided from a central location in Jupiter to our farm property, as well as for activities and experiences within the community. As well, Homesteadability offers free community events several times a year. 

Above all, Homesteadability is about possibility. We are committed to recognizing each individuals’ unique strengths and providing the encouragement, experiences, and opportunities they need to build confidence, discover purpose, form meaningful connections, and create a fulfilling future.
